Dan McCue

Say what you will about formal education, it was through the news and reading and, eventually writing, that I dove into and learned about government and politics, the arts, science, the law, energy and the environment, downtown redevelopment and business and even thoroughbred horse racing!
Metaphorically speaking, the doors to the university never close, and the adventures I've had there, accompanied by laughter, inspiration, the stress of a looming deadline, and the inevitable retrenching that occurs in any career in media are adventures I wouldn't trade for the world.
Stanley Walker, city editor for the fabled New York Herald Tribune said way back in the 1930s that, "News is as hard to hold as quicksilver, and it fades more rapidly than any morning glory." But that's the joy of it. Today's scoop remains one for only so long. So it's on to the next. And while, particularly as a beat reporter, there may be slow patches, in truth, if your gathering facts and writing them down for the right reasons, there's never a dull moment.
To quote Walker again, "[the day's news] is cheap and worthless stuff, and it is the sinews of history."
What better job in the world can there be than to hold a mirror to it all?
Along the way, I've also enjoyed winning a number of awards for more in daily and weekly newspapers, and I've garnered considerable experience in radio and television, having appeared as both a guest and program host in both.
You'll find many of those newspapers articles here. I've also done a lot of writing and editor for magazines, newsletters and the Web. You'll see a lot of that work here too.
Where Rock Lived--The Saga of WNEW

I’ve been working on this latest release for quite some time now, and can’t wait for you to read it. This book first started out as a side project, but soon turned into a fascinating undertaking which I couldn’t stop thinking about or writing.
